Monserrat Garcia Rodriguez

Deputy Director
Monserrat Garcia Rodriguez serves as the Deputy Director of the Mexican American Legislative Caucus (MALC) and the Program Director for the Mexican American Legislative Leadership Foundation (MALLF). Born in Eagle Pass, Texas, and raised in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, she has a deep understanding of Mexican American culture and cross-border experiences. Her passion for international relations led her to become a Rangel Scholar with the U.S. Department of State in 2022. Prior to her work with MALC during the 88th Legislative Session, Monse worked with MOVE Texas to engage young voters and promote civic participation.

Monse is a proud alumna of St. Mary’s University, where she graduated with a double major in Political Science and International and Global Studies, receiving the Presidential Award for academic excellence. Throughout her career, Monse has demonstrated a strong commitment to advocating for social justice and political empowerment within the Latino community. In her current role, she works to advance policies that impact underserved communities and foster the development of future Latino leaders in public service.
