ABOUT

Jacqueline Arias-Bryant

Executive Director
Jacqueline Arias-Bryant serves as the Executive Director of the Mexican American Legislative Caucus under Chair Ramón Romero, Jr. A proud Rio Grande Valley native, Jackie’s passion for community organizing began early, inspired by her upbringing in a region rich in culture but often overlooked in policy decisions. She believes that amplifying the voices of working families and marginalized communities is key to creating lasting change.

Jackie began her career with La Unión Del Pueblo Entero (LUPE), a nonprofit founded by César Chávez and Dolores Huerta, dedicated to empowering farmworkers and colonia residents along the Texas-Mexico border. Witnessing the challenges her community faced firsthand, she dedicated herself to fighting for equity and opportunity through advocacy and public policy. Jackie has worked on state and federal campaigns and previously served as Legislative Director to State Representative Ramón Romero, Jr. Before assuming her current role, she served as Communications Advisor to Travis County Judge Andy Brown, where she helped advance mental health initiatives, multi-modal transportation projects, and the first affordable child care ballot initiative in the state.

Jackie holds an MA in Political Science and a BA in Mass Communications and Broadcast Journalism from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. She lives in Austin with her husband Cody and their two dogs. In her free time, Jackie enjoys watching sports, exploring Austin’s food scene, and hiking the city’s many trails.
