About The Special Committee
on Border Security
As a bipartisan coalition of members representing every border county from Brownsville to El Paso, the Mexican American Legislative Caucus (MALC) has established a special committee, led by State Representative Eddie Morales of District 74, to develop a comprehensive, long-term strategy for the border region. This committee will focus on critical areas such as infrastructure, workforce development, trade, and security—key factors in ensuring the continued prosperity and growth of the border.
The committee members, who have a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges of their communities, will play a pivotal role in crafting a plan that addresses both immediate concerns and long-term goals. Their expertise will be essential in determining how reimbursements and investments can best support the border region, creating a well-rounded approach that meets the diverse needs of border communities.
